The Rex Mafiana Foundation was established with the aim of reducing inequality among young Nigerians who would otherwise not have access to quality education due to life circumstances that is not of their own making. We are passionate about education and its power to transform young individuals, people and societies. The Rex Mafiana Foundation main objectives of funding quality education and empowering families to stay the course also ties to three of the Global Sustainable Development Goals; SDG 1 – No Poverty, 4 – Quality Education and 10 — Reduced Inequality. We believe that consistent, sustained quality education across the various demographics of the Nigerian youth will greatly reduce illiteracy and inequality as well as help reduce poverty both in the short, medium and long term.

why it matters
According to the National Bureau of statistics, Nigeria is plagued by poverty affecting 63% of our population. Data from UNESCO also shows over 10 million Nigerian children ages 5-14 out of school.
