Rex Mafiana Foundation and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ota Branch Partner to Support 13 Students at Agbara Grammar School.

At the Rex Mafiana Foundation, we ground our work in the understanding that unequal access to education remains a critical driver of poverty and social exclusion. Guided by the belief that better people make better societies, we remain committed to expanding opportunities for young minds whose dreams are often threatened by financial limitations.

By investing in education today, we are intentionally sowing the seeds for a more equitable and brighter tomorrow.

In line with this commitment, the Foundation, in partnership with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ota Branch, visited Agbara Grammar School in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, to present WAEC fee sponsorship certificates to 13 students. The beneficiaries, selected based on their academic excellence and financial need, will now be able to sit for their final secondary school examinations without the burden of financial constraints.

This presentation follows a similar intervention recently carried out at Oke Ore Grammar School in Atan, where 15 students also received sponsorship support. For the Foundation, these numbers represent far more than statistics, they reflect lives empowered and renewed opportunities for talented young people to pursue their academic goals.

During the presentation, Mrs. Cynthia Ekundayo, the Programme Coordinator of the Rex Mafiana Foundation encouraged the beneficiaries to remain focused and committed to their studies. She emphasized that education remains one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty and creating lasting transformation within communities. She urged the students to approach their examinations with diligence and determination.

Also speaking during the event, Branch Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Ota Ogun State, Engr. Fabian Anyanwu, MNSE, MNICE R. Eng reaffirmed the Society’s support for initiatives that help remove barriers preventing capable students from completing their education. He also appreciated the Rex Mafiana Foundation for its strong partnership in sustaining the effort.

The atmosphere at Agbara Grammar School was one of gratitude and encouragement as students, teachers, and parents gathered to witness the presentation. The Vice Principal, Mrs. Jessica Okonji, expressed appreciation for the timely intervention, noting that many families are currently facing economic pressures and that the support would significantly ease the burden on parents while allowing the students to focus fully on their academic preparation.

The Rex Mafiana Foundation, on behalf of its Chairman and Founder, Engr. Rex Mafiana, expresses sincere appreciation to the Principal of Agbara Grammar School, Mr. Jelili Olanrewaju, and the entire NSE Ota Branch team for their collaboration and coordination in ensuring the success of the event.

Continuing the Commitment to Education

As the Foundation continues its mission across communities, we remains steadfast in our commitment to standing in the gap for vulnerable talented students ensuring that financial hardship does not cut short the educational journeys of bright and deserving young people.

Through sustained partnerships and community engagement, the Rex Mafiana Foundation will continue to invest in education and empower the next generation to build a better future.
